Back to School
Returning to school as an adult often means learning new technology along with new coursework. Between online platforms, logins, uploads, and deadlines, it can feel like everyone else already knows how it all works.
If you feel nervous, overwhelmed, or out of practice, you are not alone.
MyLearnTech Lab offers patient, one-on-one virtual tech coaching for adult learners who want to feel more confident using the tools they need for school.
Whether you want to get comfortable with your school's online learning platform, submit assignments, organize your files, or brush up on word processing and presentation software, sessions are tailored to your goals, your pace, and the tools your classes actually require.
Why MyLearnTech Lab
I'm Jodi, and I've spent over a decade in higher education supporting adult learners.
That means this support is built with a real understanding of what you're juggling — work, family, self-doubt, long gaps away from school, and the quiet panic that can come from being told a task is "simple" when it absolutely does not feel simple.
Here, you can ask questions, take your time, and get support without feeling rushed or talked down to. Technology shouldn't stand in the way of your dreams.

How It Works
Step 1 - Choose your session
The Jumpstart
One session.
90 minutes.
A single, focused session to get you set up and ready before the semester picks up speed.
The Confidence Booster
Three sessions.
60 minutes per session.
Time to build real, lasting comfort with the tools your program requires.
Not sure which one fits?
Ask a question
I'm happy to help you decide.
Step 2 - Tell me what you're working with
On the booking form, share your questions or the systems you'll be using - Canvas, Blackboard, Microsoft 365, or whatever your classes require.
Don't know yet? That's completely okay. Let me know your school and program, and I'll do the research to understand what's ahead of you and build a plan before we meet.
Step 3 - Meet one-on-one
We'll meet virtually for personalized guidance at your pace and comfort level. No rushing, no jargon, no assumptions about what you should already know.
What to Expect
Before we meet
You'll get an email with a link to join our Zoom session. On a computer, there's nothing to install. Just click the link. If you're using a tablet, Zoom may ask you to download its free app first. I'll walk you through that quick, one-time step. If you'd like a practice run beforehand to make sure everything works, just ask. That's a normal request, not a bother.
What you'll need
A laptop or desktop computer or tablet with a webcam (a computer is preferred) and an internet connection. That's it. If you have a specific assignment, login, or platform you want help with, have it handy - but don't worry if you're not sure where to start.
When we begin
We'll start by talking, not clicking. You'll tell me what's been - or what might be - frustrating, confusing, or stressful, and I'll listen. There's no test, no evaluation, and no assumptions.
During the session
We'll work through things together at your pace. You can share your screen so we can see exactly what you're seeing. Ask the same question five times if you need to - repetition is how learning works, and I'll never make you feel foolish for asking.
When we finish
You'll leave with clear next steps and notes you can refer back to later.
If this was a single session, you'll have what you need to keep going on your own - and my door always stays open. You're welcome to email me with questions or book again anytime, whether it's next week or next semester.
If you have more sessions, we'll schedule those, then we'll talk about what to focus on next and what you'll want to practice in between. You'll know exactly what's coming, and you can always email with quick questions between sessions if something comes up.
A note about nerves: It's completely normal to feel anxious before a first session — especially if technology has made you feel small before. You will not have that experience here. Come as you are.
